The effects of an epidemic can be no more ignored and the strategy of “doing nothing” is becoming too expensive for our firms.
The considerable diffusion of the Internet both in public and private enterprises causes the circulation of an increasing amount of sensitive data on the net, both personal (names and addresses) and also extreme confidential such as credit card numbers, bank accounts etc.

The huge presence of a lot of different information circulating on the net stimulate computer hackers to gain access to all these data. We hear more and more frequently about hackers that have illegally gained possession of sensitive data; less frequently, probably due to a question of image, we hear about companies that have lost their personal records database, sometimes after an IT attack. According to the researches we make, such cases are dangerously and steadily increasing.
According to a recent research carried out by the Storage Index, European enterprises’ managements consider IT security as an absolute priority among the company assets; moreover, nearly a third of them says that some aspects of IT security are real nightmares. We often work with network operators that, besides monitoring the system efficiency, have also to face, despite being unprepared, possible attacks coming both from Internet and from the company itself!
Companies are however aware of the potential of the net and of the need to use Internet with the highest level of security.
